About

Hello my name is Hayden! i am a visual artist currently studying to get my BFA. my practice is mostly in oil, mixed media, photography and wood burning. I think of my art works as small parts of myself. Ones that reflect the emotions, memories and connections I have to the world around me, to connect and grow with the viewers. I strive as an artist to give a piece of myself away every time an artwork is sold, intertwining with the life and soul of its new owner. Creating an entangled and diverse world of connection, soul and memory. Utilizing both photo and painting, my works rage form interesting viewpoints to colorful heaps of paint on a canvas. Each snap or stroke telling a story and expression of its own. My process consists of finding the smaller beauties in life, feelings that sit with me close and memories that feel too close to let go; and capturing them in ways that best express their connection to myself and what I feel will connect with the viewer. Within my paintings I take my time to cultivate an environment that is welcoming and safe, where I can then use texture and color to bring out a rather expressive yet cohesive beauty. Contrary, within photography, I like to let the environment I am in guide my feelings; capturing fleeting moments and building a world of its own within the snapshot. All my works center around connectivity and the hyperaware nature that I live in, using it to give a glimpse of the world through my own eyes. In hopes that it will inspire or intertwine with others.
